The Dao of Food – Moving into Autumn

With Leah Schwartz, M.S., L.Ac
Owner/Practitioner, Lifted Heart Classical Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
Wednesday, August 23 @  10am-11:30am

Come join us for an interactive conversation and tasting event hosted by Chef Laurie Gershgorn of Good Choice Kitchen and Classical Chinese Medical practitioner and local acupuncturist, Leah Sasha Schwartz of Lifted Heart.

Learn about and enjoy foods that will help improve our ability to adapt with the seasonal changes as we welcome autumn and all it’s bounty. End of summer is a time to nourish the Stomach and Spleen in Chinese Medicine as well as the Earth / Mother Element.

We will discuss:

What can I eat to feel grounded, rooted, content and happy?

What cooking methods are most appropriate for the season as the weather cools off?

How can I use them to heal my digestive system, ease my mind, and have abundant energy as we transition into autumn?

Bring a friend or loved one for $30 or come and meet new friends for a $20 investment.  Part of our ongoing “Lunch and Learn” series, this program will be relaxed, informative, and fun and will conclude with a sampling of delicious foods being discussed.

Suitable for foodies, spiritual seekers, and health nuts of all ages we will explore many concepts including how to reduce inflammation, the Chinese 5 element cycle and summer correspondences, introduction to yin yang theory, preferred methods of cooking for end of summer / transition into autumn changes and more!

Come learn something simple, fun, and practical to improve your life while enjoying some real GOOD CHOICE foods with us.  All are welcome.

RSVP please.
